Can I Get a Student Discount on My White Card? | Blue Dog Training
Yes, Queensland students are eligible for a discounted White Card rate of AU$89.00 for Monday to Friday sessions with Blue Dog Training. To claim the student rate, you need to provide your LUI (Learner Unique Identifier), USI (Unique Student Identifier), and Student ID when you book. It is a genuine discount for students who are just getting their start in the industry.
We work closely with Queensland secondary schools through our VETiS program, and we understand that cost is a real consideration for students and their families. The student discount is one of the ways we make it easier to take that first step.
Who is eligible for the student White Card discount?
The discounted rate of AU$89.00 applies to current Queensland secondary school students attending Monday to Friday sessions. You will need to provide:
- Your LUI (Learner Unique Identifier, issued by your Queensland school)
- Your USI (Unique Student Identifier, free to obtain at usi.gov.au)
- Your Student ID
These are verified during the booking process, so make sure you have them ready before you start your enrolment.
Why would a school student need a White Card?
More and more Queensland secondary students are completing VET (Vocational Education and Training) qualifications at school, including construction and engineering programs delivered through Blue Dog Training. A White Card is often a required component of these programs, particularly if practical on-site work is involved.
Getting your White Card at school also gives you a head start on your construction or trade career. By the time you finish Year 12, you already have a nationally recognised safety licence that employers look for.
Is the student White Card the same as the regular White Card?
Yes. The outcome you receive is identical: CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry, issued by Blue Dog Training as a registered RTO. The discounted price does not affect the training quality, the assessment, or the card you receive. It is the same White Card used by workers across Australia.
What about VETiS White Cards through Blue Dog Training?
Blue Dog Training has a dedicated VETiS White Card program for Queensland secondary schools. This is designed specifically to integrate with school timetables and curriculum, and is delivered in partnership with individual schools.
If your school is a Blue Dog Training VETiS partner, your White Card may be delivered directly through your school program. Talk to your school's VET coordinator for details, or visit bluedogtraining.com.au/en-au/vetis-white-cards
How do parents and schools book the student White Card?
Students can book directly through the Blue Dog Training website and select the student rate during enrolment. Schools arranging White Card training for multiple students should use our company booking process at bluedogtraining.com.au/en-au/company-bookings, which allows group bookings to be managed efficiently.
