    Begin by completing your online student enrolment.

    Complete Your Online Theory
    Work through the theory component at your own pace via your student portal.

    Book Your Practical Assessment
    Once your online theory is completed, schedule your in-person practical assessment via the student portal.

    Receive Your Certification
    Upon successful completion of both the theory and practical components, your Statement of Attainment will be emailed to you.

    The First Aid course provides training and assessment on the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, as well as first aid in multiple scenarios.

    The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide first aid and CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

    HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    The HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation course provides training and assessment on the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

    The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

    Did you know?

    To maintain your accreditation, it is a requirement for individuals to participate in First Aid refresher training every 3 years, and CPR refresher training every 12 months. 

    Delivery You will complete your online theory learning and assessment in your own time then you will be given a link to our booking system to book your face-to-face practical assessment.
    Unit of competency Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for:
    • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
    • HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
    • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    Duration The enrolment period for this short course is 3 months.
    However, it is expected to be completed within 1 week.
    Requirements
    • One form of valid Photo Identification
    • An email account
    • A phone or other electronic device with internet access
    • A Unique Student Identifier (USI)

    * Transportation to a designated Blue Dog Training location to complete the practical assessment

    * Physical capacity to perform CPR on an adult manakin placed on the floor for 2 uninterrupted minutes.

    Practical Assessment Details
    • The face-to-face practical assessment for this course is 4.5 hours.
    • You can book your class after you have completed your online theory assessment
    • If you need to give your employer your Statement of Attainment upon successful completion, let us know and we can send it to them with your permission.
