A Queensland secondary school can partner with Blue Dog Training to deliver VETiS programs by contacting our team to discuss the school's needs, available facilities, and student interest. Blue Dog Training works closely with each school to design a delivery model that fits the school's timetable, workshop setup, and student profile. There is no one-size-fits-all; we build the program around your school.

We have been doing this across Queensland for a long time and we know how schools work. The VET coordinator, the classroom teacher, the school leadership, and the students all have different needs. Our job is to make this work practically, not just on paper.

    What does the partnership involve?

The Blue Dog Training VETiS partnership means the school provides the teaching space and facilities (typically the school's technology, woodwork, or metalwork workshop), and Blue Dog Training provides the qualified trainers, the learning management system, the training materials, and the registered RTO framework to issue nationally recognised qualifications.

Theory content is delivered through Blue Dog Training's LMS within the school environment. Practical projects are completed on site at the school with a Blue Dog trainer attending to deliver and assess the practical components.

What qualifications can the school offer through the partnership?

Through a Blue Dog Training VETiS partnership, schools can offer:

Both Certificate II qualifications are delivered over two years, subject to government funding rules. Students can enrol in one or both, subject to funding and school approval.

What does it cost for students and schools?

The first VETiS qualification for eligible Queensland state school students is funded through state VETiS funding. Where funding is accessed, the second qualification is available at no cost to the student under a Fee for Service arrangement at $0 per qualification for eligible students.

Non-funded school students enrol under Fee for Service arrangements at $1,200 per qualification. Schools should contact the Blue Dog Training team to confirm current arrangements and funding eligibility for their specific context.

    How do we get started?

Contact the Blue Dog Training team through our For Schools page at bluedogtraining.com.au/en-au/for-schools. We will discuss your school's facilities, student numbers, timetabling, and how to structure the program to make it work. From there, we guide you through the formal partnership and enrolment process.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Does our school need special facilities to deliver VETiS with Blue Dog Training?

A: Having a functional technology workshop, woodwork space, or metalwork facility is helpful for practical delivery. If your school does not have ideal facilities, talk to us about what is possible. We have worked with a range of school environments and can be flexible.

Q: What role does the classroom teacher play in VETiS delivery?

A: The classroom teacher supports student engagement and day-to-day administration within the school. Blue Dog Training trainers are responsible for the delivery and assessment of the VET qualification. We also offer upskilling support for teachers through our Educators program.

Q: How does Blue Dog Training manage RTO compliance for VETiS delivery?

A: Blue Dog Training as the registered RTO (RTO 31193) holds full compliance responsibility for the qualification delivery, including training and assessment, record keeping, and qualification issuance. Schools are delivery partners, not RTOs.

Q: How long does it take to set up the partnership?

A: Setup timelines vary depending on the school's readiness and the start of the academic year. Contact us as early as possible if you want to have a program running for the next school year.
