    This qualification is required to obtain a QBCC Builder’s Licence (Low-Rise). The course includes 19 nationally recognised units of competency, delivered across five structured clusters designed for step-by-step progression with trainer support.

    Stage 1

    • CPCCBC4009 Apply legal requirements to building and construction projects

    • CPCCBC4012 Read and interpret plans and specifications

    • CPCCBC4014 Prepare simple building sketches and drawings

    • CPCCBC4004 Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects

    • CPCCBC4003 Select, prepare and administer a construction contract

    Stage 2

    • CPCCBC4002 Manage work health and safety in the building and construction workplace

    • CPCCBC4007 Plan building or construction work

    • CPCCBC4005 Produce labour and material schedules for ordering

    • BSBESB407 Manage finances for new business ventures

    Stage 3

    • CPCCBC4021 Minimise waste on the building and construction site

    • CPCCBC4018 Apply site surveys and set-out procedures to building and construction projects

    • BSBPMG422 Apply project quality management techniques

    • CPCCBC4001 Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 1 and 10 Buildings

    Stage 4

    • CPCCBC4053 Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 2 to 9, Type C Buildings

    • CPCCBC4008 Supervise site communication and administration processes for building and construction projects

    • CPCCBC4006 Select, procure and store construction materials for building and construction projects

    Stage 5

    • *CPCCBC4010 Apply structural principles to residential and commercial constructions

    Delivery You will progress through the course at your own pace by logging into your unique student profile and downloading workbooks for your assessment tasks.
    Duration The enrollment period spans two years, with the standard Training Plan designed to be completed over 16 months.
    Selection Criteria While this qualification has no formal prerequisites, Blue Dog Training recommends meeting at least one of the following criteria:
    • High knowledge of construction with extensive job experience
    • You must provide evidence of a completed Certificate III in a construction trade. Note that if you are applying for CSQ funding where applicable, additional eligibility criteria apply.

    • A device which will allow you to take photographs
    Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Initiative offers funding incentives for this course.

    CSQ is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seekers in the building and construction industry.


    CSQ Higher Qualifications Building Program

    Under the CSQ Higher Qualifications Building Program, CSQ will contribute $7600.00 towards the total cost of your qualification, reducing your student co-contribution fee to $500.00.


    Participant Eligibility

    You may be eligible for CSQ Funding if you have the right to work in Australia and are an Eligible Worker or Unemployed Eligible Worker in Queensland.

    An Eligible Worker is someone substantially engaged in the Building and Construction industry for the majority of their regular working hours.

    To be considered for CSQ Funding, you will need to provide the necessary documentation to support your eligibility.
