    What is VET in Schools (VETiS)?

    The Blue Dog Training Vocational Education and Training in Schools program provides students with practical and hands-on training, equipping them with trade-like skills and valuable industry experience. Our students gain nationally recognised qualifications and a strong pathway into an apprenticeship program, supporting a smooth transition into a rewarding career.

    What makes Blue Dog different?

    We're tradies too, so we train the way trades work. Our students finish a CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways or MEM20422 Certificate II in Engineering Pathways while still at school - prepared with safety know-how, basic tools skills, and the right attitude. We're not recruiters - we're your training partner. Our students are trained with intention, so you get skilled, reliable tradies ready to step in. When you're ready to hire, we make the connection straightforward and fuss-free.

    Who are the students you recommend?

    Year 11 and 12 students from our VET in Schools (VETiS) program.
    They're looking for:

    • Work experience
    • School-based apprenticeship training (SBATs)
    • Full time apprenticeships after school

    We put forward students our trainers back who have a genuine interest in pursuing a post school vocational occupation and align with your workplace needs.

    How do I express interest?

    Takes less than 2 minutes.

    What’s the cost?

    There are no fees involved to enquire or be matched.
    Standard apprentice wages apply if you hire.

    What happens once I'm ready to hire, and what support do I get?

    You choose your apprentice, and we'll help make it official. We connect you with an Apprentice Connect Australia Provider (ACAP), who handles all the paperwork: training contracts, eligiblity checks, government registration and incentives.Once hired, Blue Dog delivers on-site carpentry and engineering apprenticeship training with:

    • A dedicated trainer from start to finish
    • No block release - training at your site
    • Flexible online theory
    • Access to our unique Skills Profiler app to track work
    • Live progress updates
    Can I offer work experience or school-based apprenticeships?

    Absolutely!
    You can:

    • Host a VETiS student for work experience
    • Take on a school-based apprentice
    • Join us for school visits or site tours
