QUEENSLAND BORN, QUEENSLAND OWNED AND COMMITTED TO REAL TRAINING SINCE 2004

MEM20422 Certificate II in Engineering Pathways

Kickstart Your Engineering Career with Our Pre-Apprenticeship Program!

This is a two-year practical course that requires students to become competent in skills necessary for entry into several engineering trades.

Queensland, Vocational Education Training in Schools (VETiS) funding

In Queensland, Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) is funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET).

This funding supports school students to complete one approved VETiS qualification while enrolled at school. As students are entitled to only one subsidised VETiS qualification, it is important that they carefully consider their training options before committing to a course of study that will use this entitlement.

Students who complete a VETiS qualification while at school remain eligible to access further Queensland Government subsidised training after leaving school.

    Cost Breakdown

A school student who is receiving training under the DESBT VET in Schools (VETiS) program pays no fees for this training.

    1) Students with VETiS funding available – Course is fee free

    2) Students ineligible for VETiS funding - $1200

What Can Blue Dog Training Offer Your School?

Blue Dog Training partners with secondary schools as the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to deliver high-quality VETiS programs that integrate seamlessly into the school environment. This partnership enables schools to offer students a nationally recognised qualification, contributing up to four (4) QCE credits, while maintaining compliance with all VET, ASQA, and DTET requirements.

A qualified and industry-experienced Blue Dog Training trainer and assessor attends the school on a structured and planned basis throughout the school year. All theory, practical training, and assessment activities are delivered within the school timetable and aligned to each school’s individual requirements, facilities, and operational needs.

As Part of the Partnership, Blue Dog Training Will:
    • Provide a dedicated trainer and assessor to your school, acting as a single point of contact for coordination, delivery, and communication.
    • Provide access to an innovative online Learning Management System (LMS), offering 24/7 visibility of student progress and reporting for schools.
    • Manage all student record-keeping, assessment evidence, and compliance requirements in line with ASQA and DTET standards.
    • Contribute to the cost of resources and equipment required for practical training activities.
    • Attend information sessions, school events, and engagement activities to support students, parents, and career advisor

    Enrolment and Eligibility

Student participation in a Blue Dog Training VETiS program is subject to school approval. Schools select quality Registered Training Organisations to partner with for the delivery of VETiS programs, and Blue Dog Training is currently partnered with over 100 secondary schools across Queensland.
