Sun Safety Deadly Serious

We all know that too much sun exposure takes its toll overtime, but how many of us do everything we can to protect ourselves? According to the Cancer Council Australia, melanoma is the fourth most common cancer diagnosed in Australia.

As most of us remember, it’s as simple as Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide, but what does that mean? As covered in Blue Dog Training’s White Card course and Apprentice training, it is important to:

  • Slop on SPF30+ sunscreen
  • Slap on a hat that covers the head, neck and ears
  • Seek shade and
  • Slide on close fitting sunglasses.

Don’t forget, all of this is still important in winter! Cooler temperatures don’t equal a cooler sun.
