This month, Blue Dog Training, Queensland’s leading provider in construction training, announced a generous discount to subsidised enrolments into the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) - the prerequisite for a Builder’s Licence.
Announcing the just over 40% reduction, Blue Dog Director Brad Deas said the qualification provides technical knowledge for low-rise builder (QLD), builder (NSW) and restricted builder licence classes. “At Blue Dog we’re committed to assisting the construction industry advance their careers. We hope that offering a reduced price to subsidised enrolments will allow more Tradies to complete this high quality, industry recognised qualification”.
The discount reduces the Queensland subsidised (funded) enrolment price to $990 – a hefty drop from the previous $1760.
The first-step towards starting your own business, this qualification fosters the acumen of people in the trade industry, ensuring they have all the tools for a successful start-up; including project, legal and risk management strategies, and finance and business planning tools.
Recognising prior qualifications, Blue Dog helps clients obtain evidence needed to prove competency. Service and Compliance Manager, Rebecca Grant says while it may seem tedious, maintaining records are key to gaining recognition of ability, knowledge and experience. “To obtain a Certificate IV qualification, people need to prove competency across a range of modules. This may involve producing documentation from a recent building project, answering industry-related questions and site visits. We also ask for references from previous employers to support industry experience”.
Designed by Tradies, for Tradies Blue Dog’s flexible course is available to start at any time. Complimented by regular tutorials and supported by Trainers, the self-paced nature of the qualification means clients decide how long it takes (with the majority completing within a six-twelve month period).
Well-known for quality training, Director Brad Deas said the already popular course is a favourite of the industry. “I’m sure this price drop will introduce more Certificate IV qualified ‘Blue Dogs’ into the industry, confident and prepared to start their own businesses”.
