CHANGES TO THE QUEENSLAND WHITE CARD

From 1 February 2019 the Queensland State Government (Workplace Health and Safety Queensland) will introduce changes to the General Safety Induction (White Card) course.

WHAT ARE THE CHANGES?

  • The Queensland White Card course will no longer be able to be delivered online. This means that training must be delivered face to face
  • An exemption allowing online or distance delivery will only be available where the student is located at least 100km away from the nearest registered training organisation offering face to face delivery
  • Queensland White Cards can ONLY be issued to students trained in Queensland. To meet this requirement students must be physically located in Queensland during training

WHAT FACE TO FACE SERVICES WILL BLUE DOG  PROVIDE AS OF 1 FEBRUARY 2019?

In response to the Queensland government changes Blue Dog Training will be offering the following services for Queensland residents only:

  • The course will be offered at the Blue Dog Training premises at 18 Heussler Terrace Milton, Brisbane
  • You can visit the Milton office Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 12pm for a walk-in session, where you will be assisted through the course and assessed by a trainer
  • Blue Dog Training also plans to offer group face to face sessions at a variety of different locations throughout Queensland. Contact us to find out more details.
  • If you are an organisation we may be able to come to you!
  • The cost of face to face delivery is $120 per participant.

WHAT HAS NOT CHANGED?

  • The training arrangements Blue Dog Training has in place for the Western Australian White Card and the Tasmanian White Card are not impacted by the changes being introduced by the Queensland government. This means that other states are still able to complete their White Cards online, but will be receiving a WA White Card instead of the QLD White Card.
  • The Western Australian White Card is nationally recognised across all Australian States and Territories, but Blue Dog Training still recommends participants first check with their employer to determine if it will be accepted onsite

CHANGES IN ISSUING REPLACEMENT CARDS

There are some changes in the issuing of replacements cards including:

  • If your White Card has been lost, stolen or destroyed
    AND
you are wanting to be issued with a replacement card
    AND
you did not complete either CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry through Blue Dog Training, then you MUST provide a copy of the Statement of Attainment for the White Card course you completed previously. If you cannot present this Statement of Attainment you will not be issued with a replacement White Card and you will need to resit the course.
  • If your Blue Card has been lost, stolen or destroyed you will not be able to replace it and you will have to complete the current White Card course to be issued with a new card.

CHANGES TO ID REQUIREMENTS

Evidence of Identity documents (EOI) must be made up of three (3) original EOI documents:

  1. One (1) Category A document and two (2) Category B documents
    OR
  2. Two (2) Category A documents and one (1) Category B document

NOTE: At least one Category A document MUST BE photographic and show a full name and date of birth.
