Blue Dog offers White Cards but no white flag

Published to Company News on May 13, 2010

Last Saturday night Team Blue Dog did battle for an action packed 30 minutes in the Ipswich Show's Demolition Derby. We finished 2nd again, however this time there were 28 cars involved. We were going for the win and being beaten by the Boonah Boys for the second year in a row shows just how tough their car is.

Controversially Blue Dog Training and the Boonah entry were disqualified for not putting on enough hits in the latter stages of the derby. Team Blue Dog are disappointed and know through experience its a bit hard to steer with a busted front end which performs more like a plough than the front end of a car. Our front end or white card panel was destroyed after a number of heavy hits. After reviewing the video evidence it's clear to us that the judge must have been watching a different derby however his decision is final.

Members of the crowd were also stunned by the ruling including a number of our apprentices and our staff who were there to show their support. G'day and thank you to Warren a client who'd completed a white card with us and came up and introduced himself, he was impressed with our effort on Saturday night and made mention of the helpful staff that he dealt with when he completed his Blue Dog Training White Card. The spectators were keen to inspect the damage and have a photo or 2 taken with the damaged cars.

Bring on the next Derby; Blue Dog will be bigger and stronger in 2011.
