Two questions commonly asked by our employers and other members of the construction industry who experience the Blue Dog Training model are:

  • "Why hasn't this been done before?"
  • "When are you doing the other trades?"

This commitment to high quality and innovative apprentice training led to Blue Dog Training being awarded the Construction Training Excellence Awards run by Construction Training Queensland in its first year of apprentice training.

The Australian Government Minister for Vocational and Technical Education, the Hon Gary Hardgrave MP, was the guest of honour at the 12th annual Building and Construction Training Excellence Awards run by Construction Training Queensland.

The awards were presented tonight at a gala dinner at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in front of more than 500 guests representing the state's building and construction industry.

"These awards are a fitting recognition of the high standard of training provided by employers, Registered Training Organisations and individuals who have made a significant contribution to skills formation in the building and construction industry in Queensland," Mr Hardgrave said.

"These winners and runners-up exhibit a commitment to training in an industry which is such a vital contributor to this state's robust economy."

Awards were presented in eight categories including Innovation in Training, Commitment to Training, and Outstanding Training Provider.

Blue Dog Training was proud that their commitment to innovation in training which has received incredible employer support, was publicly recognised. This recognition has given the Blue Dog staff an enhanced commitment to providing training that meets the needs of industry.
