What is a White Card?

A White Card is evidence that you have completed a General Construction Induction course/White Card course (previously known as the Blue Card, Red Card or Green Card course depending on your state). This course is mandatory for anyone who works, or wants to work, in the construction industry. The White Card course is nationally recognised, and can be done online (exclusions apply see below) or in person with Blue Dog Training

Recent Changes to White Card Legislation

In the past White Card courses have been available to complete online, however state governments have recently been introducing more strict rules to prevent White Cards being issued for online courses. At present only Western Australia and Tasmania allow their White cards to be issued for online courses.

Because the White Card course is Nationally Recognised you can choose to complete an online course if you reside outside of Western Australia or Tasmania to received an interstate White Card. However we recommend attending a local face to face course to ensure you receive your states White Card; while the course is nationally recognised it is also legal for employers to reject interstate White cards.
