OVERAGING See More

Aging under conditions of time and temperature greater than those required to obtain maximum strength.

OVERBENDING See More

Allowance for spring-back when bending metal to a desired angle.

OVERHEATED See More

A term applied when, after exposure to an excessively high temperature, a metal develops an undesirable coarse grain structure but is not permanently damaged.

OVERLOAD RELIEF DEVICE See More

A mechanism designed to relieve overloads to structural members of the press and/or tooling. The devices can be mechanical, hydropneumatic, or hydraulic and can be located in the slide, connections, bed, or tie rods. These devices have limited strokes, often less than 1" (25.4 mm) of travel.
